Trinidad and Tobago is two islands at the southern end of the Caribbean, with
Trinidad hugging the coast of Venezuela across a few kilometres of water and
smaller Tobago lying to its northeast. Its first tier is not provinces or
states: Trinidad is divided into municipal corporations, five of them cities
and boroughs and the rest regional corporations, and Tobago is governed as one
division of its own. Together they cover both islands without a gap.

What you are looking at
The municipal corporations of Trinidad and the island of Tobago, as they stand
today. Port of Spain, San Fernando and Chaguanas are cities, Arima and Point
Fortin are boroughs, and the rest are regional corporations that fill the space
between them. The cities and boroughs are small, and several sit on the coast
beside much larger regional corporations, so they are the answers to look for
first. Where a corporation has two names joined by a hyphen, such as
Mayaro-Rio Claro, the game writes it with a hyphen throughout.
The groups are not an official classification. The country publishes no
grouping of its corporations above the corporation itself, so these are the five
parts it is usually described in: the north west around Port of Spain, the
centre, the east coast, the south, and Tobago. They are a way to learn the map a
piece at a time.
How to place one
- Start with the capital. Port of Spain is the small division on the
northwest coast of Trinidad, with Diego Martin to its west and San
Juan-Laventille to its east.
- Follow the east-west corridor. Arima and Tunapuna-Piarco run inland
along the northern foothills, and Sangre Grande takes the northeast.
- Cross the centre. Chaguanas and Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo fill the middle
of the island, with Princes Town below them.
- Finish in the south. San Fernando, Penal-Debe and Siparia line the south
and southwest, and Point Fortin sits on the southwest coast.

Port of Spain, San Fernando and Chaguanas are cities, Arima and Point Fortin are boroughs, and the nine others are regional corporations. They all sit at the same level in this game.
Why is Tobago a single answer?
It is run by its own House of Assembly rather than by corporations, and the boundary files treat it as one division.
