Antigua and Barbuda is a two-island state in the Leeward Islands of the eastern
Caribbean. Its first-level divisions are the six parishes of Antigua and the two
dependencies, Barbuda and Redonda, and together they cover the whole country.

What you are looking at
Antigua is the main island, and its six parishes are named for saints: Saint
John in the north-west, with the capital St. John's, Saint George to its east,
Saint Peter along the north-east coast, Saint Philip in the east, Saint Paul in
the south and Saint Mary in the south-west. The two dependencies lie off the
main island. Barbuda is a low, flat coral island about 40 km to the north, and
Redonda is an uninhabited rock about 56 km to the south-west, so small that it
is a speck on this map.
How to place one
- Split the map into three. Barbuda is the large island at the top, Redonda
is the dot at the bottom left, and everything between is Antigua.
- Find the capital. Saint John holds St. John's, on the north-west coast.
- Work round the coast. From Saint John, Saint George and Saint Peter run
along the north and east, then Saint Philip, Saint Paul in the south and
Saint Mary back in the south-west.

Worked examples
Saint JohnThe capitalSaint John is the north-west parish, with St. John's, the capital and the main
port, on its coast.
BarbudaThe sister islandBarbuda is the second island of the country, much flatter and less populated,
and a dependency rather than a parish.
RedondaThe rockRedonda is a tiny uninhabited island, the furthest of the three from the rest,
and easy to find once you look for the lone dot to the south-west.
Frequently asked questions
How many parishes does Antigua and Barbuda have?
Six parishes, all on Antigua. Barbuda and Redonda are dependencies and are counted separately, which makes eight divisions in the game.
Why is Redonda on the map?
It is one of the country's divisions, even though nobody lives there. It is a small island, so tap the dot, not the sea around it.
