Under the 20 prefectures of the Central African Republic sit 85 sub-prefectures, from the four arrondissements of Bangui to the enormous sub-prefectures of the north-east that are each larger than a small country. This is the full list, grouped by the prefecture each one belongs to.
The sub-prefectures (sous-préfectures) of the Central African Republic, the second tier of the country. Most take the name of their chief town, which is also how people name them, so Bambari, Bangassou and Berbérati are a sub-prefecture and a town at once.
The map is uneven. The south-west is carved fine, with several sub-prefectures to a prefecture, and the north-east is carved coarsely, so a single sub-prefecture there covers as much ground as a whole prefecture elsewhere. The four arrondissements of the capital, named here Bangui-Centre, Bangui-Fleuve, Bangui-Kagas and Bangui-Rapides, are the smallest answers on the map, and the game gives the smallest of them a tap area.
The groups are the prefectures, so the game lets you drill them one at a time. Each prefecture answers under the same name in Central African Republic Prefectures.
Yalinga is among the largest answers on the map, in Haute-Kotto prefecture, in the east.
Bangui-Centre is the first arrondissement of the capital, a few square kilometres in the middle of the city. It is small enough to need a tap area on the map.
Bangassou is the chief town of Mbomou prefecture, on the Mbomou river in the south-east, and the sub-prefecture around it takes its name.
