The inkhundla (plural tinkhundla) is the unit Eswatini is organised and elects
by: each sends one member to the House of Assembly, and the chiefdoms that make
it up are what a Swazi person names when saying where they are from. There are
59 of them across a country of about seventeen thousand square kilometres, which
makes the map small and the pieces smaller.

What you are looking at
The tinkhundla of Eswatini, drawn as they stand today. Some share the name of a
town: Mbabane is split into east and west, Manzini into north and south, and
Piggs Peak is its own inkhundla in the north west.
They are very uneven. The tinkhundla of the Mbabane and Manzini corridor, around
the capital and the commercial centre, are only a few kilometres across, and a
tap on the map can miss them, so zooming in is the way to reach them. Those of
the dry lowveld to the east are many times larger.
The groups are the four regions, so the game lets you drill them one at a time.
How to place one
- Learn the regions first. Hhohho is the north west, Manzini the centre,
Shiselweni the south and Lubombo the whole east, along the Mozambique border.
- Start with the big ones. The large tinkhundla of Lubombo and Shiselweni
are easy to find and anchor everything else.
- Work through the middle last. The small tinkhundla of Hhohho and Manzini
around Mbabane, Lobamba and Manzini are where most mistakes happen.
