São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in the Gulf of Guinea, on the equator
and about 250 kilometres off the coast of Gabon, and it has no land border with
anyone. Its map is two islands about 150 kilometres apart: São Tomé, which holds
nearly the whole population, and Príncipe to the north east. This is the full
list of its districts, with a quiz on where each one sits.

What you are looking at
São Tomé island is divided into six districts, and Príncipe is the seventh
answer. Príncipe is an autonomous region with its own regional government, and
the boundary data draws it as a single unit under the name Pagué, which is the
name of its district, so the game uses that name for the whole island.
Água Grande is the small district on the north east coast that holds the capital,
São Tomé, and it is by far the smallest answer on the map. Lobata and Mé-Zóchi
run along the north, Cantagalo is the east coast, and Lemba and Caué fill the
south and the south west, with Caué taking the southern tip of the island.
How to place one
- Start with the capital. Água Grande is the small coastal district at the
top right of São Tomé island.
- Go clockwise from there. Cantagalo follows the east coast south, and Caué
holds the whole southern end.
- Come back up the west. Lemba sits on the south west and Lobata on the
north, with Mé-Zóchi inland between Lobata and the capital.
- Príncipe is the other island. Any tap on the small island to the north east
is Pagué.

PaguéThe other islandPagué is all of Príncipe, the smaller island to the north east, and it is the

Frequently asked questions
How many districts does São Tomé and Príncipe have?
Seven on this map: six districts on São Tomé island, and Príncipe, which is an autonomous region and appears as one unit named Pagué.
Why is Príncipe called Pagué in the game?
Pagué is the name of Príncipe's district in the boundary data, and Príncipe has no further districts in it, so the one name covers the whole island.
Why is Água Grande so hard to hit?
It is a small coastal district around the capital, a fraction of the size of every other district on São Tomé island.
