The canton (cantón) is the unit that names a place in Ecuador: it is the town and the countryside around it, governed from the town hall, and the name on the road sign as often as not. There are 221 of them, from the compact Andean cantons of Tungurahua to the vast forest cantons of the Amazon.
The cantons, which are the second tier of the country. Each is named for its seat, and most are the town and the land around it, so the name is usually the town you would drive to. Two names are used twice, because two provinces each have a canton of that name: there is a Bolívar in Carchi and another in Manabí, and an Olmedo in Loja and another in Manabí. They are told apart in brackets here.
The cantons are very uneven. Quito, the capital, is a canton like the rest, the cantons of the Sierra are small and packed, so the smallest have a tap area wider than their outline and zooming in is the way to reach the rest. In the Amazon the cantons are large and few, and Pastaza, which holds the town of Puyo, is the largest of them.
Galápagos is not where it is on the map. It is about a thousand kilometres out in the Pacific, so it is drawn in the sea south west of the mainland, behind a dashed rule, at its true size. It has three cantons, one for each of its main inhabited islands: Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal and Isabela.
The groups are the provinces, so the game lets you drill them one at a time. It opens on Pichincha, the capital's province, so the first run is one province rather than the whole country. Each province answers under the same name in Ecuador Provinces.
Cevallos is a canton of Tungurahua, next to Ambato, and the smallest of the 221 by area. It is small enough to need a tap area on the map.
Pastaza is the largest canton in the country, in the middle of the Amazon. It shares its name with the province that holds it, and it is the one that contains Puyo.
Bolívar in Carchi is a small canton near the Colombian border, and it is not the Bolívar in Manabí, on the coast. The brackets name the province, and so does the group the question is dealt from.

Bolívar and Olmedo are each the name of two cantons, in different provinces. The bracket says which.
