The district is the second tier of Pakistan, between the provinces and the tehsils, and the unit that names a city on a number plate, a bus or a forecast. There are 160 on this map, from the specks that make up Karachi to the desert districts of Balochistan that are each larger than some countries.
The districts of Pakistan as the humanitarian boundary release draws them, inside the land Pakistan administers. The map predates a handful of recent splits, so a newer district may not have its own shape yet: Keamari in Karachi, Murree, Kot Addu, Taunsa and Wazirabad in Punjab, and the halves of South Waziristan are all part of a neighbour here. Names are in English, and a few follow their current spelling, such as Layyah for the file's Leiah and Dera Ismail Khan for D. I. Khan.
The district is more often than not named for its main city, so the city and its district are one answer. Karachi is the exception: it is cut into five districts on this map, so there is no single Karachi to click.
The districts are very uneven. Lahore, Faisalabad and the Punjab districts are mid-sized and tidy, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan districts are long valleys, and Balochistan's are enormous. Islamabad is a district of its own, and the five Karachi districts and Islamabad are small enough that the map gives them a tap area.
The groups are the seven first-level units, so the game opens on Sindh and lets you drill one at a time. Each answers under the same name in Pakistan Provinces.
Chagai is the largest district in the country, in the far west of Balochistan on the Afghan and Iranian border, in desert that holds the Chagai Hills.
Central Karachi is one of the smallest districts, a few dozen square kilometres in the middle of a city of millions. It needs a tap area on the map.
Dera Ismail Khan, on the Indus in the south of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is written D. I. Khan on many maps, so it is worth knowing both forms.
