Under the 24 regions of Madagascar sit 120 districts, from the six arrondissements of Antananarivo that fit in a few square kilometres each to Ihosy, in the south, which is larger than Northern Ireland. This is the full list, grouped by the region each one belongs to.
The districts (distrika) of Madagascar, the second tier of the country. Most take the name of their chief town, which is also how people name them, so Moramanga, Ambositra and Morondava are a district and a town at once.
Some towns are split into more than one district. Antsirabe, Antsiranana, Mahajanga, Toamasina and Toliary each come as an I and an II, the town itself and the countryside round it, and Antananarivo is six arrondissements in the middle of the capital. Those six are the smallest answers on the map, and the game gives them tap areas. They are named "Antananarivo" followed by their number, since the file calls them only 1er Arrondissement and so on.
The map is uneven. The highlands are carved fine, with Analamanga holding thirteen districts, and the south and the west are carved coarsely, so a few districts there cover as much ground as a small country.
The groups are the regions, so the game lets you drill them one at a time. Each region answers under the same name in Madagascar Regions.
Ihosy is the largest answer on the map, the main part of Ihorombe region in the south, a district of grassland and the Isalo massif.
The 3rd arrondissement is seven square kilometres in the middle of the capital. It is small enough to need a tap area on the map.
Nosy-Be is a district of Diana region and an island off the north west coast, the country's best known resort.

A few towns are split in two: the first is the town and the second the countryside round it, as with Antsirabe I and Antsirabe II.
The file gives the district as Port-Berge with its newer name, Boriziny-Vaovao, in brackets. The game uses the shorter one.
