Burundi is a small, hilly country of about the size of Maryland, with Lake Tanganyika and the Ruzizi plain along the west, a high central plateau around Gitega, and the border with Tanzania to the east. It reorganised in 2025 from 18 provinces into five, so many maps still show the old ones. These two quizzes cut the same map two ways: the five provinces to learn first, and the 42 communes beneath them for when that stops being a challenge. The communes are grouped by province, so what you learn on one carries to the other.
